Our Story

Founded by creators, operators, and technologists. Built for rights holders and enterprises.

Tiffany Walling McGarity spent more than 20 years as a working photographer. For most of that time she watched her images get used, shared, and republished without credit, permission, or payment. She wasn't alone in that experience. It was the default condition for most visual creators. The tools to fight it either didn't exist or required resources most creators didn't have. Her experience inside photography, digital media, metadata, and content licensing shaped the problem Metapyxl was built to solve.

Tiffany and John McGarity built a business together for years. John is an interdisciplinary artist and designer whose work spans photography, sculpture, installation, and visual systems. He brought that perspective to Metapyxl, shaping the brand identity, product aesthetic, and creative direction from the beginning. His experience across art and design gave him a firsthand understanding of how creative work moves through the world, and how easily authorship, context, and control can be lost once it leaves the person who made it.

Jennifer Walling, Tiffany's sister, watched that struggle close up for years. She spent two decades building commercial engines for enterprise organizations, earning President's Club recognition twenty times for exceptional sales performance. She understood both the scale of the problem and what it would take to turn a creator pain point into a durable business. She helped shape Metapyxl's commercial strategy around rights, licensing, partnerships, and enterprise adoption.

Together, Tiffany, Jennifer, and John developed patented technology for connecting rights and licensing information to digital media, helping form the foundation for Metapyxl.

Joerg Blumtritt brings the technical depth to turn that foundation into infrastructure that can operate at enterprise scale. A technologist, entrepreneur, and researcher, his work spans AI, digital media, privacy-preserving computing, decentralized systems, identity, and data infrastructure. Alongside his role as CTO of Metapyxl, he teaches Applied Machine Learning at Cornell Tech and digital media at Wheaton College and NYU. His earlier work includes helping build a blockchain-based payment and identity system for the United Nations World Food Programme.

Each came to Metapyxl from lived experience, not a market map.
