Our Story

Founded by photographers. Built for creators, managers, and enterprises.

Tiffany Walling McGarity spent more than 20 years as a working photographer. For most of that time she watched her images get used, shared, and republished without credit, permission, or payment. She wasn't alone in that experience. It was the default condition for most visual creators. The tools to fight it either didn't exist or required resources most creators didn't have.

Tiffany and John McGarity built a photography business together for years. John brought the visual and design instincts that shaped how Metapyxl looks and communicates - the brand identity, the product aesthetic, and the creative direction that runs through everything. That foundation came directly from years inside the photography industry, seeing how creative work gets treated when it leaves the people who made it.

Jennifer Walling, Tiffany's sister, watched that struggle close up for years. She had spent two decades building commercial engines for enterprise organizations, winning the President's Club twenty times over for exceptional sales performance. She knew the problem was real and that a scalable business could be built around solving it. Together with Tiffany, she developed the core patent that became Metapyxl.

Joerg Blumtritt came to the same problem from a different direction. As a researcher and professor of digital media at NYU and Wheaton College, he had spent years watching the rights and provenance problem affect creators in his community. His technical background spans decentralized identity systems, privacy-preserving computing, and data infrastructure - including building blockchain-based payment and identity systems for the UN World Food Programme. He brought the depth to build rights infrastructure that works at enterprise scale.

All arrived at Metapyxl from lived experience, not a market map.
